COM207: Introduction to Communication Inquiry (Deiss)

The objectives of this library instruction are practical and assignment driven. By the end of this session you will be able to:

1. Compare Google & library database searches
2. Critically research a communication topic

This guide was designed to support students enrolled in COM207, however, others researching communication might also find the content useful.  Here is the basic format:  

• Find Scholarly (Academic) Journal Articles -- Begin here.  This tab will provide information to explain what scholarly journal articles are and how to access them through the GCC Library.
• Find Open Web Sources Using Google Search Tips -- This tab will provide information on more effective Google searching.  
• Find Help from a Librarian -- This tab will provide information about available research assistance. 
• Find Citation Assistance -- This tab will direct you to the citation assistance research guide.
• Find APA Format Assistance -- This tab will provide information to explain the basics of APA citation style and how to access useful citation information and tools.
