Lesson Objectives

Today we will use the psychology databases to locate scholarly, peer-reviewed and empirical articles on developmental psychology. You will:

  1.  locate, read, and save one article
  2. work in groups and present the findings of one article to the class

Stages of Development

  • Prenatal
  • Babies (birth to 12 months)
  • Toddlers (1 to 3 years)
  • Preschool (3 to 5 years)
  • Grade school (5 to 12 years)
  • Teen (12 to 18 years)
  • Emerging adulthood

When searching for information regarding these age groups, you might use synonyms for the above words. Example:  adolescent rather than teen. Infant rather than baby. The term "early childhood" might also be a search term of use.
