Welcome to the Fire Science Research Guide. This guide is meant to help students find and use library resources helpful in FSC courses. It is divided into several main parts, which can be found by clicking on the tabs to the left:

  • Find Articles -- Provides information to help you find reference, scholarly, magazine, and news articles related to your research topic. Includes direct link to Fire Safety Journal.
  • Find Books -- Provides information on finding topical books available either at the GCC Library, online, or through another MCCCD library.
  • Find Video -- Use this tab to find free streaming video or DVDs sources on your topic.
  • Link to eTextbooks -- Go here for free access to the Branigan's Building Construction for the Fire Service, Fundamentals of Fire Fighter Skills, and Fire Service Ethics textbooks in eBook format. 
  • Career Resources -- Links to career resources for firefighting and the GCC page for Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Fire Science. 
  • Citation Help -- Redirects to the GCC Library citation guide, which provides assistance for citing sources in APA, MLA, and Chicago citation style.
