About this Guide

Welcome to the Computer and Information Technology Research Guide!  This guide is meant to help users find information and resources in Computer Science and Technology.  It is divided into several main parts, which can be found through the left:

 

  • Getting Started -- This tab is meant to help you identify starting points for research into your topic.  This includes background information resources along with sources and hints to help you begin.
  • Find Articles -- This tab will provide information to help you find online articles, journals, magazines, and newspapers on computer science topics.  Included are some of the databases that specialize in this area.
  • Find Books -- This tab will provide information on finding computer science books available either at the GCC Libraries or online.  It includes both a search box and a number of featured books.
  • Find Video -- This tab will provide information to help you find you find either DVDs or streaming video sources in computer science
  • Computer Programming -- This tab provides a number of books and website sources that can help one looking to learn a computer programming language.
  • Website Development-- This tab will provides resources to help one looking to learn how develop websites.  Included are helpful websites and book resources.
  • Microsoft Office -- Whether you love it or you hate it, Microsoft Office is everywhere, from helpful programs like Word and Excel to the Windows operating system.  This tab provides website and book sources to help you master this aspect of computing.
  • Linux/Unix -- This tab will provide information to help you learn Linux and Unix.
