HIS102: Genocide Research

Guide supports genocide research for History of Western Civilization 1789 to Present (HIS102) class.

Websites

There are many resources on the internet that address modern genocides. However, students should be careful to use resources that have been vetted or recommended by experts.  Some genocides remain controversial and there are websites that spread disinformation or deny the existence of various genocides.  As many archives and genocide experts are affiliated with universities, consider using Google to search .edu websites only so that you might find experts. [For example, this is an example of a Google search on the term 'genocide' scoped to .edu websites, only.]  Further, many university libraries have created guides that link to primary sources related to various genocides. Consider using these guides to find reputable website about the genocide that you are researching.
