Creative Writing

Welcome to the Creative Writing Guide!  This guide is meant to help users find resources, learn tips of the trade, and inspire creativity.  The guide is divided into several main parts, which can be found by clicking on the tabs to the left:

• Find Articles - - This tab will provide information on finding articles available in the GCC Library databases. 
• Find Books -- This tab will provide information on finding topical books available either at the GCC Library, online, or through another MCCCD library.
• Find Video -- This tab provides information on searching for DVD and streaming video available through the GCC Libraries.
• Creative Writing Club and Degrees at GCC -- Links to the Midnight Metaphors Creative Writing Club at GCC,as well as to academic certificates available in creative writing.
• Writing Contests @Your GCC Libraries -- An event calendar listing writing competitions and writing programs hosted by the @Your GCC Libraries Student Engagement Group. 

• NaNoWriMo @ GCC - Resources and activities for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) at GCC. 

• Publishing Possibilities - A regularly updated list of potential submission opportunities. 

• Poetry and Prose Performances -- Video examples of writers performing their work, plus tips for performance.
• Websites, Blogs, and More -- Essential websites, entertaining blogs, and other online explorations for the creative writer.
• Recommended Books for Writers - A list of books and eBooks available through your GCC Library, selected for the creative writer. From rough draft to publication, we've got a book for that. Check one out today!
