What is the GCC Library Reimagine MakerSpace?

The GCC Library Reimagine Space is a cross-disciplinary makerspace facility that encourages hands-on learning, collaboration, creativity, experimentation, and design thinking. It is available for use by GCC students, faculty and staff.

  • CNC Routing (3D carving)
  • 3D scanning
  • 3D printing
  • Vinyl cutting
  • Raspberry Pi & Arduino
  • Bookbinding 
  • Virtual Reality (VR) headsets (coming soon)

Hours & location

The GCC Library Reimagine MakerSpace, located in room L-139, is currently available by appointment for faculty/class requests. Please submit a library instruction request and select Reimagine Space in the Primary Purpose of Your Visit field.

Individual students, faculty and staff may also use the space, by appointment, Monday through Thursday between the hours of 8:30am-3:30pm. Please submit a request form 1-2 business days ahead of time to schedule a session.

Workshops

Workshops are offered each semester and are listed on the library's Classes & Events page. Reimagine Space events require pre-registration and confirmation to attend, due to limited space and materials.

Usage policy

Reservations 

  • Required, submit the form to request a reservation.
  • All bookings must be approved by the library faculty/staff.  
  • The room must be returned to its original condition at the end of the session.

Safety 

Food & Drink

  • Not permitted (including chewing gum).
