What can you do with a Raspberry Pi?

Raspberry Pi Projects and the Library

There are numerous Raspberry Pi projects that you can get involved with.  Below, we have listed a few sample projects.  You will notice that many of these projects will require you to purchase kits and materials in order to complete them.  For example, if you wanted to create a remote control car or drone with a Raspberry Pi, you may need to purchase wheels or propellers and a casing for your vehicle.  With all that said, the library is willing to help you with these projects in a variety of ways:

  • Raspberry Pi systems are available in the Reimagine Space Room.  Additionally, we offer several available for checkout that you can take home and complete projects with.  Please note, you will eventually want to either return the Raspberry Pi you borrow from the library or (if you wish to keep it as part of your project, pay the $-- replacement fee for the device)
  • Additionally, Raspberry Pi projects can be made in conjunction with other equipment and materials in the Reimagine Space such as our 3D Printers.
  • We also have limited funding to pay for kits and projects you are envisioning with your Raspberry Pi.  Essentially, if you project is affordable, the library will be willing to purchase kits and materials to help you complete your project.  This might involve purchasing things such as wheels, cases, sensors, equipment, etc.  Please note, decisions will be made on a project by project basis.  If this interests you, please send an email to:sean.obrien@gccaz.edu for details.
